Register for the Light UAS Scheme™ - LUASS™

EuroUSC™ is authorised by the UK CAA (DAI/9932/09) to assess the ‘Airworthiness’ of Light Unmanned Aircraft Systems of 150Kg and below. The Light UAS Scheme™ (LUASS™) covers the Design, Construction (including functionality of embedded FCS software), Airworthiness, Operation, Pilot/Crew Qualifications and Exemption or Permission to operate. In 2004 EuroUSC™ obtained the first approval in the UK for a light UAS to operate from a Civil Airport.

Registration - EuroUSC™ are unable to provide specific information regarding operation and qualifications for Light Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) of 150 Kg and below until you register your interest with the Light UAS Scheme™ by completing Registration Form 1. A registration Fee is payable according to UAS mass listed in the table below. The Registration Fee will be invoiced by EuroUSC™ once the application has been accepted.

Registration is applicable to the following:-

CASE 1: Manufacturers, Distributors and Operators should Register under the Light UAS Scheme™ giving details of the UAS type requiring CAA Permission (MTOM <20 Kg) or CAA Exemption (20 - 150 Kg). Please register on Form 1 using one form per type of aircraft. A Registration Fee is payable according to the scale shown below. After acceptance of the completed Form 1 EuroUSC™ will, if appropriate, prepare a written quotation, contract and Statement of Work (SoW). Further information will be required using Form 2. Registered Clients will receive a user name and password to the LUASS™ collaborative system.

CASE 2: Pilots & Crew requiring a Basic National UAS Certificate - BNUC-S™ (MTOM <20 Kg) or BNUC™ (20-150 Kg) should also register their interest by completing the web version of Form 1. Registration is currently FREE for Pilots & Crew. Candidate application to sit exams can be made by using Form 10 (provided by EuroUSC™ after registration).
